Amazon’s Jeff Bezos offers $2 billion to help pay for Nasa’s moon mission

The Times says Jeff Bezos has offered to bankroll America’s return to the moon to the tune of more than $2 billion (£1.5 billion) to help bridge a Nasa funding shortfall.

The Amazon founder, the richest man in the world with a net worth of $153 billion, has urged the US space agency to let his Blue Origin aerospace company and its partners get to work on building a lunar lander after it dropped them from the process, saying it could only afford one contractor, Elon Musk’s SpaceX, and not two as originally planned.
