The Metro says Jamie Carragher has explained why Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool decided not to sign Tottenham star James Maddison.
Maddison moved to Spurs in a £40m deal this summer following Leicester City’s shock relegation from the Premier League.
The England international midfielder was linked to several other clubs before heading to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Following the 26-year-old’s bright start under Ange Postecoglou – with two goals and four assists in his first six Premier League games for Spurs – questions have been raised as to why the other elite English clubs did not bring in Maddison.
