Singer James Morrison’s wife Gill Catchpole has reportedly been found dead at their family home aged 45.
A source has said Morrison is ‘devastated’ by her sudden death, after she was found at home in Gloucestershire on Friday.
There is thought not to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death, and Morrison is being supported by family through his grief, according to The Sun.
Catchpole’s café, the Cotswold Sandwich Box, was reportedly closed on Saturday with police cars seen outside.
A source told the outlet ‘the whole village is in complete shock at what has happened. Gill was a lovely woman and they were a beautiful family.
The Broken Strings singer, 39, and Catchpole share two daughters: Elsie, 15, and five-year-old Ada Rose.
Catchpole is mum to her and James’ two daughters, aged 15 and five
Morrison and Catchpole first met when she moved into his mother’s home as a lodger while he was living at home and trying to break into the music industry.
He said in a 2021 interview that they ‘had a connection straight away,’ but as she had a boyfriend at the time it was two years before they got together.
‘I didn’t want to tell her that I fell in love with her the first moment I set eyes on her because I didn’t know, I never fell in love before,’ he admitted.
‘So I didn’t really know if it was that,’ he told the White Wine Question Time podcast.
‘So it was like a massive moment for me to even tell her that I liked her.’
