EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa has discussed her upcoming return, revealing that it’s as permanent as one can be on a soap.

It was confirmed last month that Jacqueline, who played Lauren Branning on the BBC One soap, would be reprising her role on a more regular basis following a brief return in June.

The news came as a great delight to fans, who had long hoped for a full-time return, and Jacqueline was quick to put viewers’ minds at rest in a new livestream on Instagram when quizzed about how long she’s back for.

‘I haven’t actually come on at all and spoken about the fact I am going back to EastEnders. How wild is that?,’ she told her followers.

‘I haven’t spoken about it at all.’

‘It’s as permanent as anyone there is permanent. Obviously, you can get written out at any time but yeah, it’s not a flying visit this time, it’s back back.

‘I think it’s been so good recently. I’m actually worried to come back and ruin it.’

Jacqueline, who left EastEnders in a full-time capacity five years ago, staged two comebacks in the last year.

The first was for the funeral of Dot Cotton in December, with the second being an appearance in June this year during a special episode set in France, which saw Lauren reunited with Peter Beale (Thomas Law).

When news of her upcoming comeback was announced, Jacqueline said: ‘I’m really excited. It’s such an amazing time to be back as there is so much buzz around EastEnders at the moment.
