Israeli attacks in Southern Gaza kill 19, including children
At least 19 Palestinians, including eight children, have been killed in Israeli airstrikes on southern Gaza overnight, according to local health officials.
In al-Mawasi, a tent camp for displaced people was hit, killing a mother and her four children. A separate strike in the nearby city of Khan Younis claimed the lives of a couple and their children.
The Israeli military claims that the strikes targeted Hamas fighters.
Similar deadly airstrikes were reported in other parts of Gaza. The Hamas-run health ministry stated that 51 people were killed across the territory in the past 24 hours.
In northern Gaza, six people, including a baby, were found dead after strikes hit two houses in Gaza City, according to the Hamas-run Civil Defence agency.
In central Gaza, three people died in a strike on the town of Deir al-Balah, while an infant was killed in the Bureij refugee camp nearby, medics reported.
The Israeli military has not commented on these specific strikes. The situation in Gaza remains dire as casualties continue to mount.
