Israeli Airstrikes Kill Dozens in Gaza City and Beit Lahiya
Israeli airstrikes on Tuesday killed dozens of people in Gaza City and Beit Lahiya as negotiations continued in Doha. Medics confirmed at least 10 people died in an airstrike on a house in the Daraj suburb of Gaza City, including eight members of the same family. Among the victims were a father, his three children, and their grandmother, according to casualty reports.
In Beit Lahiya, north of Gaza City, another airstrike destroyed a house, leaving at least 15 people dead or missing under the rubble. Rescuers were unable to immediately access the site due to ongoing Israeli military operations and the town’s siege, which has been in place since early October.
Elsewhere in Gaza, at least 10 more Palestinians were killed in separate airstrikes, adding to the heavy toll on the region.
The conflict began after a Hamas-led attack in October that killed around 1,200 Israelis and saw more than 250 taken hostage. In response, Israel launched a military campaign in Gaza that has since claimed over 45,000 Palestinian lives, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry. The rising death toll has drawn global concern as the humanitarian crisis in the region deepens.
