Israel kills at least forty-six people in bombing of Beirut

Israel kills at least forty-six people in bombing of Beirut. At least six people were killed and seven wounded, Lebanese health officials said. A photo from the bombsite, showed a heavily damaged building with its first floor on fire.

Three missiles also hit the southern suburb of Dahiyeh, where Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed last week, and loud explosions were heard, Lebanese security officials said.

The southern suburbs came under more than a dozen Israeli strikes on Wednesday.

The Israeli military said regular infantry and armoured units joined its ground operations in Lebanon on Wednesday as Iran’s missile attack and Israel’s promise of retaliation raised concerns that the oil-producing Middle East could be caught up in a wider conflict.

    World leaders have condemned Israel

Lebanon’s health ministry said Israeli air raids killed at least 46 people in the south and centre of the country over the past 24 hours.

World leaders have condemned Israel, after the country barred the UN SG António Guterres from the country.

    Israel broke a ceasefire agreement

U.S. President Joe Biden said he would not support any Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear sites in response to its ballistic missile attack and urged Israel to act “proportionally” against Iran as he believes Israel is out of control after Israel broke a ceasefire agreement.

The US is frustrated with Israel as Iran and Hezbollah had agreed to a ceasefire days before Israel did a u-turn and bombed Nasrullah.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, accused Israel of trying to provoke Iran into a war to draw in the US.

“Europeans (leaders) and the US said that if we do not act, there will be a peace in Gaza in one week. We waited for them to have peace but they increased their killing.”
