The Traitors fans refuse to believe Diane could be killed off in tonight’s episode – so much so they’ve turned to William Shakespeare for hope.
How? Well, there’s a compelling theory which has arisen on social media which those of us clinging onto the possibility that Diane is somehow saved from the poisoned chalice are choosing to believe 100%.
For context, in the latest episode, the three traitors – Paul, Miles and Harry – were given a pretty simple task which they made look extremely complicated, to find a chalice hidden in three Shakespeare books and make sure their next victim is the first to drink from it.
However, fans now think the Shakespeare books are actually a big clue that all is not as it seems.
Referencing Bill’s play Othello, ‘Iago “symbolically poisoned Othello’s mind to change him” and that this is why the poisoned chalice found in that book by the traitors will not poison Diane but will actually CHANGE her, into a TRAITOR?’ gasped Super TV on X.
Ok so there is one flaw to this theory: the traitors were specifically ordered to kill.

That’s not enough to deter some of Diane’s loyal fans though, with a user called Josh Usher noting: ‘Clock struck so for me i think its void unless evie drinks it.’
The last episode cut after Miles handed Diane the chalice but Evie was right next to her and could potentially have been given the cup instead.
Paul, who was almost kicked off Deal Or No Deal, has also shared a concerning tweet which has made fans ‘physically sick’.
Responding to anxiety about the length of time between episodes, he wrote: ‘‘You’ll be thankful for the days off after you witness what’s coming.’
What does he mean?
We’re about to find out when The Traitors returns tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
