Is PMQs on today? Sunak faces Starmer after Liz Truss launches PopCons

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will face Labour’s Sir Keir Starmer in another PMQs session. The session allows the public to see the prime minister questioned in the House. The opposition leader will ask six questions – usually on various topics – before the floor opens to the SNP’s Westminister leader and backbench MPs.

PMQs can get fairly fiery and with it being an election year, every PMQs session counts for Sunak and Starmer – as both will be putting forward their vision for Britain.

There’s been a variety of events happening since the last PMQs session, with King Charles’s cancer diagnosis – which has led to people, highlighting NHS waiting lists, Labour’s green pledges, former PM Liz Truss launching PopCons and Stormot being back in business – as Sinn Fein’s Michelle O’Neill becoming its first nationalist First Minister.

Liz Truss and her Popular Conservatism movement could be a key talking point – some may see it as an attempt to oust Sunak ahead of the general election.

There has also been speculation in the newspapers this morning that the UK’s general election could be in October – to avoid a clash with the US elections, which take place in November.

    When is PMQs?

Prime Minister Questions (PMQs) kicks off at its usual time of midday and will last around 30 minutes.

    Where can I watch PMQs?

PMQs is available to watch via the Parliamentary YouTube channel.
