Manchester United return to Premier League action this afternoon for the first league fixture since their calamitous loss against Liverpool last weekend, with Southampton today’s guests at Old Trafford.

The Anfield debacle has cast a shadow over their recent good work under Erik ten Hag, but United will still back their chances of finishing in the top four and qualifying for next year’s Champions League.

Meanwhile, Southampton saw their survival bid boosted thanks to a 1-0 win against Leicester last weekend, but they remain firmly in the relegation mire under new boss Ruben Selles.

And so with both sets of fans eager to see how both club’s fare later on, will Manchester United vs Southampton be shown anywhere on TV in the UK?

    Read ahead to find out.

What time does the game kick-off?

The match will kick-off today (Sunday, March 12) at 2pm.

Is Manchester United vs Southampton on TV?

Unfortunately for fans, Manchester United vs Southampton will not be shown live on TV anywhere in the UK.

The fixture was not selected by Sky Sports or BT Sport for TV coverage and so it was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday at 3pm.

However, with United playing in the Europa League against Real Betis on Thursday night, the game was put back by almost 24 hours to give the squad extra recovery time.

West Ham are also in the same boat, with their encounter with Aston Villa moved back by almost 24 hours to accommodate their Europa Conference League game in Cyprus on Thursday.

Will the game be on radio?

BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra will have live commentary of the game from 1.55pm.

What happened in the reverse fixture?

Manchester United won the first game between the two sides back in August.

Bruno Fernandes’ second-half volley was enough for United to come away from the long trip to the south coast with the three points.

United’s win at St Mary’s was their second successive win following the now infamous 4-0 defeat to Brentford, with the 2-1 win over Liverpool sandwiched between the two games.
