Una Healy is being put through her paces in a brutal new reality series, as she becomes ‘prey for one of the world’s most fearsome predators’.
The Saturdays star, 43, has joined the likes of Lottie Moss, Boris Becker, Mel B and Shirley Ballas in Netflix show Celebrity Bear Hunt.
Hosted by Holly Willoughby, it sees 12 celebrities dropped into the Costa Rican jungle, working through terrifying I’m A Celebrity-style challenges to escape Bear Grylls.
As well as facing their fears and risking injuries, the celebs open up and show their vulnerabilities, with Lottie breaking down revealing she almost went to rehab instead of flying to film and sporting legend Boris candidly talking about his time behind bars.
While we wait to see what secrets Una spills in the jungle, we’ve taken a look inside her private life, including her famous ex and denying the ‘throuple’ rumours.
Who is Una Healy?
Irish singer Una rose to fame as a member of The Saturdays in 2008, joining Frankie Bridge, Rochelle Humes, Mollie King, and Vanessa White.
The What About Us hitmakers went on hiatus in 2014, and since then Una has held various TV roles including judging on RTE’s The Voice of Ireland for the fourth and fifth seasons and Let’s Get Gold with Rio Ferdinand, Freddie Flintoff, Martine McCutcheon and Vernon Kay in 2012.
However, years before she joined the girlband, Una represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006 as a backing singer for Brian Kennedy.
Who was she married to?
Una was previously married to rugby player Ben Foden, with the pair separating in 2018.
They married in 2012 after four years of dating and have two children together, daughter Aoife Belle who was born the year they wed, and son Tadhg, who they welcomed in 2015.
Ben, who has appeared on The X Factor: Celebrity and as a contestant on Dancing On Ice in 2022, later admitted to cheating on Una.
‘There were lots of elements to us [Una] falling apart, obviously my unfaithfulness is the reason why it eventually did split,’ he explained.
‘There’s so many aspects to a marriage, we’re not the first people to get divorced and I’m not the first person to cheat in a relationship.
‘I have to hold my hands up and say, it was wrong and I should have been a bigger man and walked away before any of that stuff happened.’
Ben, 39, remarried in 2019, just two weeks after dating his now-wife Jackie, and they now share two children together.
Is Una in a relationship now?
After her split from Ben, Una was linked to Love Island star Stephen Mullan and Irish hurler David Breen.
She was then rumoured to be in a three-way relationship with former heavyweight champion David Haye and model Sian Osborne, which she later firmly denied.
Una said she had been ‘trolled to death’ after images surfaced of the trio on holiday in Morocco at the beginning of 2023, and claimed she was only in a casual relationship with David and ‘wasn’t romantic’ with Sian.
She told Vogue Williams and Joanne McNally on their podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me: ‘I did meet her, really nice girl, I didn’t get to know her very well, it wasn’t a throuple.’
She continued: ‘The T word, I had to Google it myself because I’d never heard it, I was like what is this. Why am I being called this name that I have never heard of, I don’t know what it is.’
‘I really enjoyed my relationship with him, he is actually a really nice guy, he was very kind to me, very honest, but it run it’s course and I have been single ever since,’ she said.
‘I don’t want to be part of a three-way relationship.’
She added she felt ‘relieved’ to share her side of the story, saying: ‘I’m actually getting to say the truth from the horse’s mouth, it’s not rumours, it’s the truth.’
She added: ‘I’m a monogamous person, hopefully I will settle down again one day with a nice monogamous man.’
More recently, Una was dating Aidan Coleman but the couple reportedly split just days ago.
‘He’s a great guy and I’m very happy,’ she told The Sun in November. ‘He reached out to me and we met up and clicked. He’s such a kind and great person – I love him.’
However, The Irish Mirror claimed last week that the star had parted ways with the retired jockey, with an ‘amicable split’ after months of dating.
‘They remain good friends,’ a source claimed.
Who else is in the cast of Celebrity Bear Hunt?
Una joins Spice Girl Mel B, Strictly judge Shirley, former tennis player Borris and model Lottie in the programme.
The 12 contestants also include retired rugby player Danny Cipriani, TV host Steph McGovern, TV cook Big Zuu, and The Inbetweeners actor Joe Thomas.
Completing the line-up are interior design TV presenter Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen,Ted Lasso actor Kola Bokinni, and former Victoria’s Secret model Leomie Anderson.
Speaking about the show, Una said: ‘Laurence actually had an incident on a boat where he was like underwater for quite some time, and he lost a lot of oxygen, so he was put on oxygen, and he actually almost died.
‘Steph also had a really unfortunate incident where she fell down off the side of a cliff and bashed into it. There was a lot of things you have to watch it to see, though, but like, we really did hurt ourselves.’
The synopsis for Celebrity Bear Hunt reads: ‘Holly Willoughby hosts this action-packed competition show that sees a group of unlikely celebrities dropped into the Central American jungle as prey for one of the world’s most fearsome predators – Bear Grylls.
‘Bear believes there’s an action hero inside us all – even the celebs – but how strong is their will to survive?
‘As Bear puts them through their paces, those who fail to impress will face the dreaded “Bear Hunt” – a brutal game of cat and mouse where they’ll be hunted down by Bear himself and, if captured, face elimination from the show.’
Celebrity Bear Hunt is available to watch on Netflix.
