Reports of a split in recent months have surrounded Katy Perry and husband Orlando Bloom’s relationship.
Orlando, 48, and Katy, 40, have been together since 2016, and have been engaged for the last six years after the Lord of the Rings star popped the question with a gorgeous ruby ring in 2019.
However, the couple has been surrounded by breakup rumours as of late, with fans spotting that Katy has ditched her engagement ring in recent public appearances.
Reports have suggested that the couple has split, with Orlando set to attend Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding solo, with Katy on her Lifestimes world tour.
From their first meeting at a fast food restaurant, to welcoming their daughter Daisy Dove Bloom, we take a look inside Katy and Orlando’s love story…
How did Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry meet?
The Teenage Dream singer and Pirates of the Caribbean actor first met at a Golden Globes afterparty in January 2016 after feeling peckish following the star-studded ceremony.
‘I met my boyfriend over In-N-Out,’ Katy explained. ‘We were at the Golden Globes and we weren’t together.
The couple has been together for nine years, after the couple met at a burger joint and hit it off.
‘I had my security guard grab 10 In-N-Outs and all of a sudden I see my boyfriend’s hand — he wasn’t even sitting at our table — he just swoops in and he grabs it and I was like, “Hey that’s my burger!”’
Orlando, who is eight years older than Katy, revealed that he wasn’t ‘overly familiar with her artistic endeavours’ when they first met.
The Troy actor had previously been married to Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr, who he shares son Flynn, 12, with, while Katy was married to actor Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012.

Katy and Orlando made their relationship public in May 2016 after attending the Cannes Film Festival together. The singer posted a photo of herself and he new love interest laying on the steps of the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in France alongside the caption: ‘We cannes’t’.
The new couple made headlines that year as they were snapped by paparazzi paddle boarding while on holiday in Italy, with the moment turning viral after Orlando was pictured completely naked during the activity.
‘It was extremely surprising,’ he told Elle UK. ‘I wouldn’t have put myself in that position if I’d thought it would happen. I’ve been photographed a million times in a million ways. I have a good radar.’
The couple has one daughter and Orlando has an older son.
Have they separated? What we know so far
The couple has not confirmed or denied their split, but has continued to show a united front as parents, with Orlando supporting Katy during her Blue Orign space mission with their daughter.
The couple has rarely been seen together since then, likely because the popstar is in the middle of her world tour.
Earlier this month, a source told People that the relationship has been deteriorating for some time and ‘isn’t looking good.’
They added, ‘They’re pretty much done,’ and suggested reconciliation may not be likely.
Have they split up before?
Katy revealed that she and Orlando split for 10 months in February 2017, and recalled how the brief breakup ‘saved her life’.
Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the pop star explained: ‘We weren’t really in it from day one. He was because he had just done a huge time of celibacy, and he had set intentions.’
‘I was like, “I can’t do this anymore. I need to swim in a different pond.” But, I had to do a lot of real work,’ she explained.
Orlando went on to stay at a retreat called The Hoffman Experience, with Katy then noticing a shift in their relationship which ultimately caused them to split.
‘He went there, and he wasn’t playing that cat-mouse game anymore,’ she said. ‘And I was like, “This is boring. I’m moving on.” I was so used to this push-pull. Because once you have it. I was playing games.’
Katy then also decided to go on the retreat herself, which is credited with ‘helping participants to identify negative behaviours, moods, and ways of thinking that developed unconsciously and were conditioned in childhood.’
‘I finally went to Hoffman towards the end of that year that we were separated, and I got the tools,’ the Roar hitmaker revealed. ‘We spoke the same language.’
Katy has also revealed that she’s a big fan of couple’s therapy, telling Chelsea Handler on her podcast that they have ‘resentment issues’.
‘Your partners usually see your best and your worst sides because they are there to be your mirrors,’ she said.
‘Orlando and I do couple’s therapy. And we love it because it just keeps us in tune.’

One year after their Valentine’s Day proposal back in 2019, Katy and Orlando announced that they were expecting their first child together.
The pop star shared the happy news in her music video for Never Worn White, which ends with a clip of her wearing a sheer dress while caressing her baby bump.
‘They are of course, thrilled about the baby,’ a source told PEOPLE at the time.
In August 2020, the couple announced the arrival of their daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, via UNICEF, a charity that they are both Goodwill Global Ambassadors for. The post showed a black and white photo of the newborn holding Orlando’s finger while Katy held her wrist.

‘We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,’ the post read.
They added that they had a ‘peaceful birth’ and asked fans to donate to UNICEF so that, ‘every expecting mother has access to a trained health worker and access to quality healthcare.’
Discussing motherhood the following year, Katy explained: ‘It’s just the best in the world. It’s the game-changer. My heart is so full, finally.’

Meanwhile, Orlando is reported to be worth £30 million thanks to an impressive career in TV and film.
