The insane moment a police officer pulled a woman from her burning car was caught on his patrol car’s dashcam.
The woman had become trapped in the burning vehicle at the side of a major road in Detroit, Michigan US, on Saturday, December 16. Cameron Rieper, from the City of Fraser Police Department, was the first emergency responder at the scene.
Footage shows Rieper sprinting up to the truck and pulling open the driver’s side door. He managed to drag the woman away from her vehicle before another officer can be seen at the incident.
The woman was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries, reports the BBC.

Speaking to Fox 2 Detroit Rieper, who used to work as a firefighter, said: “There were flames in the bad area of the truck and the engine compartment was just starting to catch on fire.”
He told the station the woman appeared “disorientated” and attempted to “grab the steering wheel”. Nonetheless he persisted and was able to get her to safety.
Rieper added: “She appeared confused and wasn’t really answering any questions so I opened the door, took her safety belt off and tried to get her out of the car.
“She was an elderly female and it is really unknown if she had a medical issue or what exactly happened for the original crash.”
