ITVX has quietly added Norwegian drama Partners in Law

All three seasons of a gripping Scandi legal drama have now been added to a free UK streaming platform.

Last week, Norwegian courtroom series Partners in Law (Aber Bergen) arrived on ITVX – ready and waiting to be binge-watched.

The show follows newly divorced Erik Aber (Odd-Magnus Williamson) and Elea Bergen (Ellen Dorrit Petersen) who must not let their fractured relationship damage their successful law firm.

Instead, the two defence lawyers must push their personal problems aside as they work together on numerous challenging court cases.

Across social media, TV fans have raved about Partners in Law, with Reddit user EWFKC proclaiming: ‘I have just discovered this series and am tragically hooked.’

Google reviewer Clay Sanford shared: ‘I enjoyed this TV show a lot. Great acting, complex narrative and nuanced characters. I checked out this 3 dvd set from the local library. I binge-watched the entire series.

TV fans have been raving about the ‘innovative’ series

‘Similar to John Grisham’s book the Firm..although all the drama and action takes place in Oslo 🇳🇴 Norway rather than the US and Cayman Islands. 5 thumbs up imo.’

Echoing their sentiment, Teddi Carbonneau said: ‘This series slowly drew me in. At first I wasn’t sure I wanted to watch it. The characters are flawed and it takes awhile to start rooting for them. It is very well written and interesting. After watching two seasons I am definitely a fan.’

Kathi Parr added: ‘Innovating. Surprising. Serious but funny. Smart.’

Partners in Law first aired on Norwegian broadcaster TV3 in 2016 before ending two years later after three seasons and 30 episodes.

Netflix also recently added Nordic noir The Are Murders

At Norway’s equivalent of the RTS Awards, Gullruten, in 2017 Ellen was awarded best actress for her role as Elea.

The show was also nominated in other categories including best TV drama.

Partners in Law is not the only Scandi drama to have dropped on a streaming platform in the past week.

Netflix recently added Swedish thriller The Åre Murders adapted from the best-selling book series of the same from author Viveca Sten, which has sold over 10 million copies worldwide.

The Nordic noir follows the investigation into the disappearance of a young woman (Picture: Åremorden. Cr. Courtesy of Netflix © 2024)

The dark drama follows police officer Hanna Ahlande (Carla Sehn) who is seeking refuge at her sister’s holiday home in mountain resort village Åre after being suspended from her job and dumped by her partner.

However, when a young woman goes missing on the icy night of Lucia, an annual Swedish celebration, Hanna can’t help but start investigating the case.

With an understaffed station and limited resources, local police officer Daniel Lindskog (Kardo Razzazi) reluctantly has to accept Hanna’s help, but it’s unclear if the pair can trust each other.

Partners in Law is available to stream on ITVX.
