Former Pakistani PM Imran Khan accused of treason by Bakhtawar Bhutto the daughter of the murdered former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
In a scathing attack on Twitter, the daughter of former leader Benazir Bhutto accused Imran Khan of ‘committing treason’ during his term in office.
“Still not over the absolutely not phone call? Why don’t you take your obsession with proof to court,” she wrote, adding that she pities the PTI Chairman as he has never read the Constitution as nothing will save him from committing treason.”
Imran Khan accused of Treason
The row erupted on Twitter when Imran Khan alleged that Asif Ali Zardari (former President) was the “main architect” behind the alleged horse-trading in Lahore, adding that the former President has secured an “NRO for his corruption and purchased people with looted wealth”.
He had demanded that the PPP leader should be jailed.
Following the allegations, Bakhtawar Tweeted and warned Khan: “Why don’t you take your obsession with proof to the court, otherwise you will be hearing from our lawyers for defamation and lies.”

Former Pakistani PM was a ‘Political failure’
Former PM Imran khan has been accused of accosting public defamation by his opponents. For lashing out accusing his rivals of corruption, without providing tangible proof or following the justice system in Pakistan.
The opposition believes Mr Khan is trying to cover his ‘political failure’ with smokes and mirrors in order to create some political momentum.
Imran Khan has always maintained that he has the power and mandate from the millions of Pakistani who support him and is exposing corruption as an obligated duty.
Imran Khan was removed from office with a no-confidence vote, which he suggests was carried out with the support of American interference.
Imran Khan making a comeback
However, Imran has been very effective in propagating the narrative that the security establishment colluded with local politicians and the US to topple his government.
This is the same narrative that Khan’s candidates have taken to voters in their campaigns in the upcoming by-elections.
Which has worked for his party, PTI made huge gains in the Punjab Assembly. And the polls show Imran Khan’s anti-establishment narrative has paid off and that the former prime minister is poised to make a comeback ahead of next year’s general election.
