Nella Rose and Josie Gibson rubbed some viewers up the wrong way with a conversation about ‘real men’ (Picture: ITV/Shutterstock)
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! viewers were not impressed with a conversation between Nella Rose and Josie Gibson.
The YouTube star, 26, and This Morning presenter, 38, were discussing their idea of ‘real men’ and how being in camp has ‘restored their faith’.
While the conversation was very light-hearted, many viewers accused them of ‘pushing progression in male mental health back a good few years.’
Their chat came after Nella and Josie watched the likes of Fred Sirieix collect wood for the fire first thing in the morning to get camp going for the day.
‘I love our boys,’ Josie said, with Nella agreeing that they are ‘so useful’.
‘This is what chivalry is,’ said the daytime presenter.

‘The men are supposed to go out, hunt, get the wood, make the fire, while the women keep the vibes,’ Nella responded.
‘That’s how it should be! This is what the Suffragettes were fighting for,’ added the influencer, with her and Josie bursting out laughing.
‘It’s given me faith in men again,’ Josie added.
‘But, do you think these are old-fashioned men?’, asked Nella. ‘Imagine if it was a bunch of men my age, they’d be like, “Why are we the only ones getting the wood, bruv? Why are we the only ones getting the water? Like, the girls can’t? Why can’t we go 50-50?” These are real men.’
‘These are real men,’ Josie reiterated.
Speaking passionately in the Bush Telegraph, Nella declared that ‘this camp has 100% restored my faith in men, macho men.’
Nella laughed that the women are just there to ‘bear children’ (Picture: ITV)

‘They even cook,’ she said excitedly. ‘Hunters, gatherers, the women are just here to bear children at this point! That’s it! I love it here, I do.’
Back in conversation with Josie, they joked about the guys in camp being ‘the Hercules kind.’
‘They can’t do enough for you. They’re so nice, they are gentlemen,’ said Josie to the cameras.
While the chat was all in jest, it rubbed plenty of people up the wrong way.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), one viewer wrote: ‘Not a fan of the “real men” comments from Josie and Nella in regards to the men doing all the work around camp – imagine if two guys watched the girls cook dinner and said “yeah these are real women”‘.
‘Nella and Josie embarrassing themselves with the “real men” comment’, blasted another.
Others accused Nella and Josie of ‘contradicting feminism’ and said the idea of ‘real men’ is ‘toxic’.
‘Real men come in many forms’, argued one viewer.
However, others understood where Nella and Josie were coming from.
‘Watch fiat 500 complain about Nella saying the guys are real men’, one person joked, followed by an eye-rolling emoji.
Nella has been a hot topic of conversation pretty much from the moment she entered camp, having been voted to do most of the gruesome trials.
Speaking of First Dates star Fred, she also had quite the run-in with him early doors, accusing him of making an insensitive joke about her late father.
While they’re back on track now, Nella initially refused to eat Fred’s food and even speak to him for the remainder of her stay.
Meanwhile, Josie has also found herself caught in some… interesting moments.
In scenes she’ll probably never be able to unsee, Josie walked in on Nigel Farage showering… naked… with his bum out… in full view of her.
Josie and viewers alike were traumatised, while the GB News host has been accused of playing up to cameras to garner more airtime and votes.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues each night on ITV1 and ITVX.
