Viewers of I’m A Celebrity… South Africa struggled to hold their dinners down as they tuned in for Tuesday night’s first bushtucker trial.Â
Kicking off the season’s roster of challenges hosts Ant and Dec entered camp to tell the star-studded line-up of contestants what would be in store for their second day in the jungle.Â
The presenting duo earned themselves daggers after they announced the stars would be eating unsavoury body parts of animals in order to earn dinner for their campmates.Â
Selecting American model Janice Dickinson, 68, and Diversity dance troupe member Jordan Banjo, 30, for the task, the miserable celebrities made their way to a separate clearing and took their seats ahead of the trial.Â
Presented with a number of unusual takes on traditional dishes, audiences watched on as Jordan gagged and spat out pieces of animal anus as part of the challenge.Â
The pair won the camp five stars after refusing to eat three dessert-style plates but fans online couldn’t help but point out how ‘gross’ the ordeal had been.

One penned: ‘This is disgusting – reminds me of the time I tried eating tripe! [sic].’
Another said: ‘Crying with laughter at Jordan! He’s brilliant. He knows he’s going to gag … But he gives it a good go! [sic].’
‘The eating challenges are just the worst,’ a social media user exclaimed on Twitter.Â

Jordan and Janice’s eating trial came after Gillian McKeith’s surprise entrance to the all-star show shocked the camp – especially musician Shaun Ryder who frequently argued with with the TV personality when they both competed on the original I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2010.
The first episode of the programme – which is pre-recorded – saw an average of 4.3 million TV viewers tune in based on overnight ratings.Â
Last year’s series of the original format saw former England footballer Jill Scott become queen of the jungle.

The spin-off show sees no king or queen of the jungle crowned and instead contestants compete for the title of I’m A Celebrity… Legend as they face a series of trials.
I’m A Celebrity… South Africa continues on Tuesday on ITV1 and ITVX.
