I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! viewers have largely expressed their delight after Fred Sirieix was eliminated.

On tonight’s episode of the reality series the First Dates star, 51, became the third famous face sent packing after a public vote.

When it came time to say goodbye to his campmates he told them to ‘have fun’ with their remaining time in the jungle.

Speaking to hosts Ant and Dec after exiting camp, Fred said he’d ‘loved living in the moment in the jungle’.

Despite admitting ahead of the show that he was terrified of the creepy crawlies he might encounter Down Under, he said that he ended up finding the experience a breeze.

‘I found it quite easy because I prepared myself mentally and I was very focused,’ he explained.

When the results were revealed, many viewers said they were happy with how the vote had gone.

‘YES. Fred is gone,’ one person posted on X, formerly Twitter.

‘Au revoir Fred,’ someone else shared.

Another added: ‘Fred was the right one to leave. He was getting more and more overbearing.’

Someone else said that his ‘arrogance has caught up with him’.

Others referenced an exchange he had with Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson, whom Fred had told earlier in the episode shouldn’t compete in a trial because he should instead stay in camp and ‘play with toys’.

‘Fred is off to play with his toys whilst Sam remains to hopefully win,’ one person wrote on X after the elimination.

‘And that’s karma for being mean to precious Sam. BYE FRED,’ someone else posted.

Another Sam fan wrote that ‘Fred leaving tonight is proof that Sam is the nation’s sweetheart. King Sam is inevitable.’

Throughout his time on the show, Fred clashed with several of his castmates, beginning with Nella Rose when he commented he was old enough to be her father, which left her incensed.

Since then, he’s gone head-to-head with Nigel Farage, criticised Josie Gibson for her cooking abilities and then took aim at Sam tonight simply for putting his hand up to do a trial.

In his exit interview he again took aim at both Nigel and Josie, saying about the former politician that: ‘There is a side of Nigel Farage I can’t connect with and never will.’

Meanwhile he said this of This Morning star Josie being put in charge of cooking for the group: ‘We missed out on a few good meals because she didn’t know what she was doing.’

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV1.
