I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! 2023 has reportedly been thrown into chaos just days before filming was due to begin.
It has been claimed Coronation Street star Alan Halsall was forced to pull out of the series after undergoing knee surgery.
While we’re waiting to see who will be following in the footsteps of Matt Hancock and Jill Scott, and be joining the likes of Nigel Farage and Jamie Lynn Spears, according to reports, Tyrone Dobbs actor Alan will no longer be a part of the show.
A source said: ‘It’s a big blow, but there’s no way he can go to Australia – his surgeon would have a fit.
‘Alan needs to recover fully and then maybe he can take part next year.’
The insider continued to The Mirror: ’It’s a massive shame because everyone was really looking forward to having him on the show, but these things happen.’

The 41-year-old shared a snap to social media just yesterday confirming he had undergone ACL reconstruction surgery on Friday.
‘I have been told the surgery went really well,’ he wrote.
‘I know I have a long 9-12 months of rehabilitation ahead of me but I’m sure with the support of family & friends I’ll get there.’
Despite the official line-up for I’m A Celebrity not having been announced yet, fans took Alan’s post to mean that a jungle cameo is out of the question this year.

One person replied: ‘Guess no jungle then.’
Another echoed: ‘So u won’t be in I’m a celeb then 😂rest up.’
A source had previously told The Sun: ‘Sometimes soap actors who are known for their iconic roles don’t quite translate once in camp – Adam Woodyatt being one recent example.
‘But Alan is a top lad with bags of personality so ITV are over the moon he’s in talks to join their 2023 cast.’
Maybe next year eh!
Metro.co.uk has approached ITV for comment.
I’m A Celebrity starts on Sunday, November 19 at 9pm on ITV2.
