I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’s official social media account was spotted liking an ‘unacceptable’ comment about campmate Nella Rose.

In a statement posted on X, formerly Twitter, and Instagram the ITV show, which is hosted by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, claimed the social media activity was accidental, and have apologised.

‘Yesterday we accidentally liked a comment on Instagram while scrolling down through viewer comments,’ they began.

‘The post in question contained unacceptable language about one of our campmates and we apologise for the mistake made and any offence caused.

‘We seek to champion all our campmates and would always urge our audience to be kind when commenting on social media.’

This comes after viewers spotted the like underneath a post celebrating Sam Thompson opening up about his ADHD to Josie Gibson and Marvin Humes, who supported him in the conversation.

The comment began: ‘You know why, because Josie is a genuine person, Nelly [omitted] is just after publicity whatever.’ The viewer made a body-shaming comment, which Metro.co.uk is not sharing.

In response to the apology, some fans wrote that they were grateful.

‘I’m glad you clarified the mistake. The hate towards Nella has been WAY too much. I disagree with some of her actions in the jungle but people are acting like she’s the worst human being alive and that’s unfair. She isn’t that bad imo. I’ve seen A LOT worse,’ one person wrote.

Another added: ‘Apologies accepted on behalf of Queen Nella!’

While other viewers continued to make unkind remarks about Nella.

The comment comes days after Moonpig released a greeting card that made light of the 26-year-old influencer’s disagreement with Fred Siriex after he commented that he was old enough to be her father, which she found offensive.

Yeah, never using @MoonpigUK ever again. pic.twitter.com/3GTfhQuxG0

Nella’s father died a few years ago and is still very raw for the campmate, who also lost her mother at an early age.

Seemingly, cardmakers Moonpig poked fun at Nella and created a birthday message which read: ‘I’m really offended that it’s your birthday.’

It was slammed as ‘insensitive’ and ‘disgusting’, in light of Nella’s parental situation and clear trauma at the losses.

Moonpig appears to have since removed to controversial card.
