Taking to Instagram, he marked the poignant day with a string of photos of the pair together, and opened up about his grief.

In a heartfelt caption, the 54-year-old penned: ‘Deondra I know ur in heaven making everyone laugh… and have everyone dancing to your songs.

She simply penned: ‘All the love.’

‘RIP. Celebrate her life…. We all die and will all be together again,’ an Instagram user added.

Foxx confirmed the news of Dixon’s death in a statement shared on social media, describing her as a ‘bright light’.

Following her death, he explained that the loss ‘took the life’ out of him in a candid interview, as he spoke of his grief.

In a chat with Men’s Health UK last year, he said: ‘Listen, the pandemic was terrible for a lot of people – including me – on the home front.

‘I started out a little crazy. Like, “Get away from the windows, Covid is right outside!” I was that.’

‘And then we got hit bad with my sister passing away [last October]. That just took the life out of me. I still can hear my sister’s voice, laugh, and stuff like that.

‘But at the same time, it did allow me to lock down and get things done artistically that I may not have gotten an opportunity to do… Covid gave me a therapeutic opportunity.’
