    Huntingdon train stabbing: How the mass attack unfolded | UK News

    Two people have been arrested after a mass stabbing on a Doncaster to London King’s Cross train.

    Here’s what we know:

    – Shortly before 7.45pm last night, British Transport Police were called to reports of a multiple stabbing on board the 6.25pm train.

    – Armed police, paramedics, air ambulances, and transport police were deployed to the train, which had made an unscheduled stop at Huntingdon station in Cambridgeshire.

    – Police declared the situation a “major incident” and at one point declared “Plato” – the national code word used by police and emergency services when responding to a “marauding terror attack”. However, this was later rescinded.

    – Passengers told of people trampling over each other, and some hiding in the toilets to escape. One told WTX News he saw one of the attackers being Tasered by police before being arrested.

    – Ten people were taken to hospital – nine with life-threatening injuries.

    – The station remains closed.

    – Two people remain in custody.

    – Counter-terrorism police are supporting the investigation.
