Financial Times – Hunt signals wish to cut taxes and hold two Budgets before next election

The Financial Times reports Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has hinted at more tax cuts in the months ahead as he left open the possibility of holding two budgets before the general election. One senior, unnamed, government figure told the paper that the chance of squeezing in an autumn budget would allow the government to highlight tax cuts at three successive fiscal events – after some tax cuts last autumn.

It also has a story on how Arab countries are working on a ceasefire plan for the war in Gaza.
