Hunt for Liverpool shooting victim Olivia Pratt-Korbel gunman
Authorities are hunting the gunman who shot dead a nine-year-old girl at her home in Liverpool.
Olivia Pratt-Korbel was killed by a masked gunman who had chased an unknown male into a house on Monday night.
Police say the gunman “fired indiscriminately,” hitting Olivia in the chest as she stood behind her mother. Cheryl Korbel was hit in the wrist and the man in the body during the shooting.
They are yet to speak to the injured man – who hasn’t been arrested and was in a serious but non-life-threatening condition.
Merseyside Police press conference main points:
- An unknown 35-year-old man ran into Olivia’s home, followed by the gunman after Olivia’s mum opened the door to see what the noise was.
- Olivia was fatally shot and her mum was shot in the wrist as she tried to close the door.
- The gunman fired two more times through the gap in the door, hitting the 35-year-old man in the upper body, before he ran away.
- Injured man was then driven away in a black Audi while Olivia and her mum were left behind.
- Gunman described as about 5ft 7in of slim build, carrying a handgun and wearing a black padded jacket, black balaclava and black gloves.
