Hulk Hogan made a rare WWE appearance for the first Raw on Netflix but fans didn’t sound happy to see him.
The 71-year-old Hall of Famer, who backed Donald Trump during his recent presidential campaign, came out to his iconic Real American entrance music with longtime on-screen manager Jimmy Hart.
He tried to hype up his own wrestling legacy, his love for the fans and his Real American Beer’s new deal with WWE, but fans could be heard loudly booing his every word.
‘Hogan getting booed out the building,’ wrote @That_5Life on X, while @lilmecca said: ‘Ever thought I’d hear Hogan get booed like this #WWEonNetflix #WWERaw’
‘Hogan getting booed. Lmaooo #RawOnNetflix,’ laughed @Mc_Guane, as @StoreyXIV added: ‘Hogan getting booed massively is hilarious #RawOnNetflix.’
And @byMikeDavis quipped: ‘Hulk Hogan getting booed out of the building. Maybe 2025 has a shot after all.’
It was echoes of his return at WrestleMania 37 in 2021 when he was loudly booed as he co-hosted the event with Titus O’Neil, while his last appearance at the Raw XXX 30th anniversary show two years ago was marred by technical difficulties.
Hogan was fired from WWE in 2015 after a recording of him using the N-word was leaked during a sex tape lawsuit he filed against Gawker magazine
He was later reinstated by WWE in 2018 after apologising for his comments leaked in the 2015 trial, and last year he described the scandal as a ‘speed bump’.
At the time of the scandal a decade ago, Hogan apologised for using a slur in the audio, saying in a statement: ‘Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation.
‘It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologise for having done it.’
He added: ‘This is not who I am. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise.’
As part of his latest deal with WWE, his beer brand will ‘receive ring mat corner branding during every episode of Raw’, the company announced hours before the Netflix debut.
“Well, let me tell you something brother! From the first time I stepped into the ring, I’ve always fought for something bigger than myself,’ he said in a statement.
‘I’m thrilled to bring Real American Beer into the ring with WWE. Together, we’re bringing that pride to America, one beer, one match at a time, brother!’
Elsewhere on the Raw premiere, John Cena received a heroes welcome as he kicked off his 2025 Farewell Tour ahead of his impending retirement in December.
Despite initially claiming his long losing streak means a record breaking 17th world championship run isn’t on the cards, he performed a U-turn and announced his entrant into next month’s Royal Rumble.
If the actor turned Hollywood star wins that match, he will earn himself a world title match at WrestleMania in Las Vegas.
The Undertaker and Rhea Ripley pose together during the WWE Raw debut on Netflix
And The Undertaker made a brief appearance, coming out at the end of Rhea Ripley’s win over Liv Morgan as she reclaimed the Women’s World Championship.
He came out on a motorbike, riding around the ring and posing with Mami in a passing the torch moment.
