Anyone would be shocked to find themselves giving Hugh Jackman a British hiker’s dorky ‘hi!’ on passing him in the Yorkshire Dales.
Of course the 54-year-old Wolverine megastar swerved some lavish Indian Ocean summer break in favour of a stomp around the north of England.
The Yorkshire Dales are beautiful, and the X-Men star seemed to think so too as he donned a cowboy hat and took to the hills.
Associating celebrities in the British countryside – see Liam Gallagher at a chippy and Taylor Swift’s obsession with Cumbria – is always a fun novelty.
It’s much like the Mean Girl film’s description of spotting a teacher outside of school: it’s a bit like ‘seeing a dog walk on its hind legs.’
And this really was like that, as Wolverine himself hiked the heathery moors famed for Wuthering Heights, and even a scene in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which was filmed on the dramatic cliff-edge of Malham Cove.

The Hollywood star stayed at the historic 17th century Steeton Hall Hotel, a privately-owned property near Silsden – a small town close to the city of Bradford.
As per the BBC, the Australian legend apparently told Steeton Hall manager Angela Armitage he thought the Yorkshire Dales were ‘lovely’.
She added that Hugh stayed for only one night, and was ‘such a genuine bloke,’ as he sang Happy Birthday to the head chef’s son, who was celebrating turning 15 in the dining room that night.
He reportedly ordered a helping of pie and chips for his evening meal, cooked up by a ‘nervous sous chef.’
Danny Clarke, 43, who lives along a walking route taken by the star, caught the Hollywood icon in his doorbell camera.
Hugh was said to be eyeing up Danny’s eggs for sale outside his front door, and he even took a snap and posted it on Instagram.

He added that his children were super excited by the unlikely visitor, as they are big fans of Hugh’s film The Greatest Showman.
‘The biggest Hollywood movie star in the world putting a picture of our kids’ farm eggs on Instagram – they couldn’t believe it,’ he said.
The star was also said to have tried a range of cheeses at The Courtyard Dairy near Settle, and basked in the sun with some Yorkshire cider.
When asked by the shop owner Andy Swincoe whether – nodding to Hugh’s Wolverine character – he’d like to try carving up some of the cheddar truckles with his talons, the actor apparently ‘wasn’t keen.’
The Leeds Blue and the Hebden Goat cheeses were reportedly his favourites.
Rumour has it the star is heading to the Lake District next, where he is sure to have some pretty decent grub, as it’s actually the UK county with the biggest density of Michelin star eateries outside of London.
The views aren’t bad either… Just ask Taylor Swift.
