Hugh Jackman is now a huge fan of Nigerian food after swinging by a popular restaurant chain at the weekend.
The Australian actor, best known for playing Wolverine in the Marvel movie franchise, is currently in London to film the next Deadpool sequel but production has been paused due to the Sag-Aftra actors strike.
With his work commitments halted for now Hugh, 54, has been loving life in the UK and decided to try out the tasty dishes at Nigerian restaurant Enish.
The Hollywood star surprised staff members and customers at the Oxford Street branch and it was all thanks to his children, who recommended the restaurant to him.
An Enish spokesperson told Metro.co.uk exclusively: ‘He visited the restaurant at the weekend and his group ordered a selection of dishes including BBQ chicken for starters.
‘For mains they had jollof rice with stockfish, yam porridge with chicken, jollof rice with fresh fish, Ogbona with pounded yam and fried fish. For drinks they had Coke, Nigerian Fanta and a large glass of Merlot.’

Yes, that’s right, Hugh tried Nigerian Fanta.
The spokesperson added: ‘He said it was his first time trying Nigerian dishes and his kids recommended they come there. He enjoyed his meal and we saw him swaying along to the Afrobeats played in the restaurant.
‘He was a pleasant and friendly customer to have in the restaurant.’
Hugh could easily have gone unnoticed as he hid under a cap and dressed casually in a T-shirt and jeans. However, he was more than happy to show his face and posed for a photo which was posted on the Enish Instagram account.
They wrote in the caption: ‘We had Hugh Jackman pop by our Enish Oxford St branch this weekend enjoying some authentic Nigerian delicacies.’
Enish’s followers were impressed with Hugh enjoying the West African delicacies and many branded it ‘awesome’ while one commented: ‘Love Hugh Jackman.’
Another Instagram user joked: ‘He needs to charge his battery with fufu.’
Now that Hugh’s a fan of the restaurant, he has plenty of other locations to choose from with the chain operating in Brixton, Croydon, Finchley and even Dubai. Plus, there’s a new chain opening in Covent Garden on September 14.
It was recently reported that Enish, which was founded by couple Olushola and Eniola Medupin in 2013, is now worth £10million.
Enish isn’t the only restaurant Hugh has been spotted visiting in recent months as in July, he stopped by The Waffle House in Norwich to tuck into a slightly monstrous ‘cheat meal.’

While most of Hugh’s order was totally normal – a cream-topped milkshake and banana waffles – the same couldn’t be said for the A-lister’s main meal of choice. Hugh opted for waffles smothered in cheese, mushrooms and what appeared to be mincemeat.
He captioned his post: ‘Happy cheat meal to me! Nooo! I did not share. And I’m not sorry.’
The Les Miserables star has found himself with lots of free time when filming for Deadpool 3, also starring Ryan Reynolds, was put on hold due to the actors’ strike unfolding in Hollywood.
Last month, the action stars were seen mingling with locals at a Wrexham FC game – of course, Ryan was able to organise tickets given he co-owns the Welsh football team alongside Rob McElhenney.
Marvel fans are anticipating Hugh’s return as Wolverine having last played the character in 2017’s Logan.
