Huge fire breaks out at National Grid station as staff evacuated
The Metro says a fire erupted at a key National Grid station sparking the evacuation of workers and neighbours.
Plumes of smoke were seen billowing up from the IFA interconnector in Sellindge, Kent.
Dozens of firefighters were scrambled to tackle the blaze in the early hours, with at least 12 fire engines called to the scene.
First responders have said progress is being made but crews are expected to remain on site for some hours to come.
