It’s not long before the world will be ringing in the New Year as 2024 arrives.

As people across the globe prepare for their New Year’s Eve festivities, from parties to swanky dinners and chilled nights in, many will be planning on tuning in for the spectacular display of fireworks on TV.

In London, hundreds of thousands of people will be joining the crowds in an attempt to snag a good spot to watch the festivities in person.

If you’d rather remain in the comfort of your own home to watch the excitement unfold – a perfectly reasonable option if you ask us – then here’s what you need to know.

How to watch London’s fireworks on TV this New Year’s Eve

On New Year’s Eve, BBC One will be airing Rick Astley Rocks New Year’s Eve from 11.30pm, with the 80s icon rocking out at the iconic Camden Roundhouse.

At midnight, the New Year’s Eve fireworks will blast into the sky as Big Ben chimes to bring in 2024.

Then, at 10 past midnight when the display is over, Rick Astley’s programme will continue with even more performances for another half an hour.

The synopsis for Rick’s BBC programme reads: ‘Celebrated pop legend and star of 2023 Rick Astley is joined by some very special guests for a spectacular show at the iconic Camden Roundhouse.

‘Singing and playing his global hits and some surprise numbers, Rick brings down the house and rings in the brand new year.’

Those joining Rick on stage will include Sharleen Spiteri, Rylan and The House Gospel Choir, after the musician wowed the crowds on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury this summer.
