Hollyoaks’ masquerade ball is full of twists (Picture: Lime Pictures)
Metro.co.uk can exclusively unveil a first look at Hollyoaks’ upcoming masquerade ball and it’s everything you could possibly hope it to be and more.
The ball in question has been the subject of much discussion over the past few weeks, with Dilly (Emma Johnsey-Smith) determined to make her dreams of what it should like come to fruition.
This first look imagery is proof that she succeeds in making it a spectacle but, in typical Hollyoaks fashion, the evening is not without a twist or two.
‘I think fans can definitely expect some twists and turns,’ actress Emma Johnsey-Smith told Metro.co.uk. ‘Obviously the ball is for the snow leopards of Butan so that was kind of Dilly’s main focus but it takes another direction that people wouldn’t necessarily expect.’
The scenes, which are grand in pretty much every way, were filmed on-location in Arley Hall, which Rafe star Chris Gordon, said was a ‘real treat’.
‘Some big productions including Peaky Blinders have used the location in the past and you can see why,’ he told said. ‘I think it will add a different quality to Hollyoaks, rarely seen before. Chantelle the director was also a real pleasure to work with.. I’m really excited to see it!’

Rafe, as viewers know, is keeping a huge secret, with scenes earlier this year having confirmed that he’s dying. Ethan Williams (Matthew James Bailey) discovered the truth via Dilly and thus made it his mission to inform Sienna Blake (Anna Passey), who is trying to win Rafe’s affection.
Sienna previously dated Ethan, with the two concocting a scheme to get their hands on Rafe’s fortune. Sienna, however, started to fall for Rafe, subsequently calling things off with Ethan as she set her sights on wooing the Earl for real.
The arrival of Camilla Bassington-Hart (Dylan Morris), however, has thrown something of a spanner in the works and, given that Camilla will also be in attendance at the ball, it’s safe to assume that we can expect fireworks on the big day!
Ethan (Matthew James Bailey), meanwhile, is still head over heels in love with Sienna, with the two having recently spent the night together.

Despite Sienna insisting that Rafe is the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with, Ethan knows full well that she’s still harbouring feelings for him too.
‘I’m ridiculously excited for fans to see what we’ve been working on,’ actor Matthew James Bailey told us, describing Arley Hall as an ‘incredible location’.

‘The ball can be exactly what fans expect… GRAND. Expect ups and downs, maybe a sneaky twist’.
With this on-going love quadrangle very much at the centre of Hollyoaks right now, we can’t help but wonder if all the secrets and lies will be revealed during the ball.
Either way, we warn you, you won’t want to miss this.
