Tony broke down in Diane’s arms as he realised that, despite everything, this nightmare is far from over (Picture: Lime Pictures)
Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) broke down in the arms of beloved wife Diane (Alex Fletcher) in Hollyoaks, as he came to realise that his nightmare is far from over after Eric Foster’s (Angus Castle-Doughty) sentencing.
The landlord of The Dog, as viewers know, has been struggling to come to terms with the actions of his radical misogynist of a brother, who almost claimed Diane’s life during his siege earlier this year.
Between struggling to get any sleep to his paranoia spiralling out of control, Tony had hoped that Eric’s sentencing would prove to be the cure for all of his troubles, but this unfortunately was not the case.
Tuesday’s (March 28) offering of the Channel 4 soap saw the aftermath of the previous outing’s twist, which saw Beau Ramsey (Jon-Paul Bell) discover that Tony was the mystery intruder at his own pub.
It turned out that the landlord had been sleepwalking, and that he was to blame for the ransacking of his boozer, having no memory of the incident.
Despite his concerns, he subsequently confided in Diane, who urged him to open up about how he’s feeling, as the couple prepared for Eric’s sentencing.

Eric, who was arrested following the siege at The Dog in January, was then sentenced to 15 year in prison, which came as a relief to all those who he’d tormented and wronged.
Tony was elated at first hopeful that this would be the start of him being able to move on, but the episode’s closing moments saw him wide awake, crying in the kitchen as he confided in Diane about how he’s worried that he’ll sleepwalk again and potentially endanger her.
Diane offered comfort, as Tony broke down in her arms.
