Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) was left utterly crushed in Hollyoaks after she was told that, due to her previous outburst in hospital corridors, she’s no longer allowed on the premises.

The nurse, as viewers know, lashed out in a very public scene last week while at the hospital, determined to ensure that her bosses accepted her letter of resignation.

Her reasons for resigning were largely because she felt like a failure after Juliet Nightingale (Niamh Blackshaw) contracted a virus while in her care, which led her to believe that she was no longer fit to be a nurse.

The consultant, however, refused to accept her resignation letter, prompting Peri to cause a scene, as she threw pens and shelves all over the place, causing disruption as horrified patients watched on.

The reality of what she’d done sunk in during Monday’s (May 1) first look offering of the Channel 4 soap, with her receiving an email informing her that her contract had been terminated.

    Oh dear.

After confiding in Juliet during a visit to the hospital, Peri resolved to get her job back, but her efforts proved fruitless, with her boss refusing to give her a second chance, despite knowing what she’s going through.

Matters were complicated further, however, when she wasn’t permitted to enter the building, with her boss informing her that more complaints about her behaviour had made their way to the board, who decided that she was banned from entering the building.

Peri, horrified, refused to be kept away from her beloved Juliet, but when security guards approached, she realised she had no choice but to comply with the rules.

Will this ban be lifted? Will Peri be allowed to visit Juliet? What’s more, will she be able to get her job back?

Hollyoaks continues Tuesday May 2 at 7pm on E4 or stream the next episode from midnight on All4.
