Hollyoaks has confirmed that Mason Chen-Williams (Frank Kauer) is to blame for DeMarcus Westwood’s (Tomi Ade) online torment.

DeMarcus, as viewers know, has been struggling to adjust to a life outside of prison, after he was wrongfully jailed for the murder of Saul Reeves (Chris Charles) when real killer Joseph Holmes (Olly Rhodes) set him up.

The teen’s pals have been quick to support him, hoping to make the adjustment to normal life as easy as possible, but DeMarcus has refused their help thus far, telling them that they simply don’t understand what he’s going through.

It was later revealed that DeMarcus has been subjected to nasty and cruel texts, emails and messages on his gaming console, with the sender sinking to a new low with each and every message.

Zoe Anderson (Garcia Brown) was tasked with investigating who was to blame, and she was able to discover that Joseph’s own mum Jill (Angela Lonsdale) was responsible.

But a shock twist in Wednesday’s (October 26) first look offering of the Channel 4 soap revealed that Jill hadn’t actually sent all of the messages. The more abusive and disturbing ones were sent by someone else.

    Who?

That was the question for a time, but the conclusion of the outing of the serial drama in question revealed that it was none other than Mason, who – as fans are aware – clashed with DeMarcus last week.

Mason is under the influence of radical misogynist Eric Foster (Angus Castle-Doughty), who has made it his mission to groom the teen, poisoning his mind with his twisted outlook on the world.

Will Mason realise the error of his ways before it’s too late? What’s more, will DeMarcus and his loved ones find out who is to blame for his torment?

Hollyoaks continues on Thursday October 27 at 7pm on E4, or stream the next episode on All4 from midnight.
