Jacqui is back for one episode only as she and Mercedes reconnect (Picture: Lime Pictures)
It’s a moment a decade in the making and one that is almost upon us as Jacqui McQueen (Claire Cooper) stages her long-awaited return to Hollyoaks for a very special episode.
The sassiest and cheekiest of all of the McQueens, Jacqui was no stranger to drama during her original stint in the Channel 4 soap and that spark is still very much there when she makes her comeback this week.
Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe), like the rest of the nation, is left in absolute shock when she encounters her sister in truly unmissable scenes, which will be available to stream on Friday (December 8) evening.
The former Dog landlady, as viewers know, has taken some time away from the village after discovering that she’s pregnant and is unsure of who the dad is, given that she’s been cheating on Felix Westwood (Richard Blackwood) with his best friend Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas).
She can’t believe her eyes, however, when she sets her sights on Jacqui, who is now a nun. The siblings jump straight back into their bickering ways, with shock confessions, hard truths and even a bit of a catfight on the cards.

Trust us, you don’t want to miss this.
‘It’s been 10 years since I stepped into PVC boots and hoops!,’ said Claire, discussing her return to Hollyoaks.

‘I have great memories of my time on the show, I knew it would be a special day mainly because I got to dance with Jen [Metcalfe, who plays Mercedes] one last time.
We were on location, phenomenal crew, with a director I love, Sean Glynn, so I knew it would be handled with care, professionalism and fun! I hope the viewers enjoy a little trip down memory lane with Jacqui and Mercy.’

Jacqui is the fourth big return that Hollyoaks has announced in recent weeks, following confirmation that Emma Rigby will be reprising her role as Hannah Ashworth, while Suzanne Hall will also be returning as mum Suzanne Ashworth.
Patrick Blake will also stage a comeback, though the how and why remain to be seen.
Hollyoaks fans can watch the episode from 7:30pm on Friday December 8 on Channel 4 streaming or watch live on Monday December 11 at 7pm on E4.
