Sam was left in shock as he discovered who made the call (Picture: Lime Pictures)
Sam Chen-Williams (Matthew McGivern) was taken away for questioning in Hollyoaks after a report was made about his obsessive and disturbing behaviour towards Zoe Anderson (Garcia Brown).
The policeman, as viewers know, has struggled to come to terms with the fact that his relationship with Zoe reached its end, wanting nothing more than to reunite with her.
Zoe, who is pregnant with his child, has made it very clear, however, that she wants him to stay away, reiterating that they have no future together and that she’s having a termination.
After some questionable advice from Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) and Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson), Sam made one final attempt to get what he wanted, letting himself into the detective’s flat and planning a meal for her.
Zoe was shocked to realise just how far he ex-boyfriend had gone, admitting that his actions were leaving her incredibly ‘scared’.
The use of such a word made Sam finally realise that his behaviour was out of order, as he pleaded with Zoe to give him one more chance to explain why he’s acted in such a way.
Maxine explained her reasons for calling the police on her brother Sam (Picture: Lime Pictures)
The former cop revealed that he wants a family of his own, believing that Zoe is his soulmate and that their unborn child could be their chance to get things right this time.
Zoe, however, reiterated that she isn’t having the baby, revealing that her mother Sharon Bailey (Jamelia) made her like second best growing up as she pursued her career as a doctor and therefore she won’t do the same thing to their child.
Sam finally agreed to back off, knowing what he did was wrong. Zoe, despite how far he’d overstepped, was willing to let this go too, with the pair ultimately coming to an understanding.
Maxine face Dave’s wrath, as he disowned her in front of Zoe and Sam (Picture: Lime Pictures)
Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson), however, got wind of what Sam did and, despite the fact that he’s her brother, she reported him to the police, with subsequent scenes seeing Sam told that he’ll likely lose his job as a result of the report.
Dave (Dominic Power) believed Zoe to have reported his son, with a heated showdown ensuing in The Dog, as the postman yelled at the detective, who professed her innocence, stunned to hear that Sam had been reported to the police given that she had made no such call.

Maxine was left with little choice but to come clean, revealing that she reported Sam. The revelation left Dave seething, as he wasted little time in berating Maxine, before disowning her in front of a stunned Zoe.
Will Sam realise that his actions have consequences? Or will Maxine’s decision to report him be what he and Dave focus on instead of, you know, learning from their mistakes?
