Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Monday’s (January 15) episode that is now available to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on Tuesday (January 16) at 7pm.

Fans of Hollyoaks have been left in tears following the massive stunt offering of the serial drama, which claimed the life of three characters including two mainstays.

The biggest shock was undoubtedly the loss of Ella Richardson (Erin Palmer), who perished in the roadside collision when Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) unknowingly hit her with his car.

Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas), who found out that Ella was his daughter last year, broke down in tears, devastated to realise that his little girl was dead.

But while news of Ella’s demise will devastate many residents within the village, including aunt Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring), fans have been left wondering if the story development will allow a return for Mandy (Sarah Jayne Dunn), Ella’s mum.

‘Can someone check on Mandy?,’ exclaimed one social media user while another added: ‘Mandy surely has to return’.

Despite fans’ desires, however, a comeback for Mandy is highly unlikely.

Despite being one of Hollyoaks’ most recognisable characters, Mandy was written out of the show after actress Sarah was axed over her OnlyFans account.

The soap star told her followers that her aim in launching an account on the subscription site was to take back control of her image, and ‘choose empowerment’.

But a dispute with Hollyoaks bosses ensued, and a resolution was unable to be reached. Sarah, therefore, parted ways with the soap.

Mandy was subsequently written out in off-screen scenes, with the character vanishing from our screens before the show offered an explanation for her absence, with Mandy accepting a job in LA and leaving daughter Ella behind.

Discussing the possibility of a return, Sarah later told Drama School Dropout podcast: ‘At the moment she hasn’t been killed off, but I don’t think it will be me reprising the role if she ever returns.’

Hollyoaks streams weeknights at 7:30pm on Channel 4’s streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV at 7pm on E4.
