Holly Willoughby was left red-faced as a behind-the-scenes look at her Midsomer Murders debut showed off a couple of not-exactly-ideal acting blunders.
The presenter, 42, secured a dream-come-true role in the acclaimed British crime series, saying she ‘loved every second’ of taking part in the show.
On Friday, Holly made a surprise return to This Morning ahead of her summer break finishing, as stand-in presenters Rochelle Humes and Andi Peters aired a special behind-the-scenes look at the star in her acting debut.
Things didn’t exactly go to plan however, as the backstage look saw Holly admitting to a fair few mistakes while filming her cameo.
After sharing her nerves and excitement to get on set, a giddy Holly spoke to the camera after filming a scene, and was left red-faced when she admitted ‘it was a scene I hadn’t actually noticed was in my script.’
Oof.

She explained she had been ‘so focused on the three lines I had later’ that she had completely missed the part where she was supposed to speak up in a different scene with an ‘excuse me.’
‘Thankfully it was only a shot of the back of my head, so so far, so good – hopefully!’ she added.
That wasn’t all, as the award-winning presenter – who is a long-time major fan of Midsomer Murders – revealed the nerves got to her so badly that she messed up walking away – accidentally falling over.

ra as she admitted: ‘I made it until the very last minute then I fell over.’
Holly took the opportunity to ask veteran actor Neil Dudgeon, who plays DCI John Barnaby in the show, for some ‘serious tips.’
He assured here there was ‘no such thing as the perfect line,’ and helped keep her nerves down by laughing and joking with her before she returned to set.
It comes after Neil spoke about Holly’s cameo on Good Mornign Britain earlier this week, where he admitted she was ‘a bit nervous when she first arrived,’ but by the end ‘she was great, she was thoroughly professional.’

Holly was first announced to be appearing in the iconic mystery series all the way back in 2021, and will make her debut in an episode titled The Witches of Angel’s Rise.
While she plays herself in the scene, Neil reckons ‘she’s playing a character called Holly Willoughby, I wouldn’t like to say that it’s herself.’The ITV icon had nothing but praise for everyone who took part in her episode, taking to Instagram where she wrote: ‘
Thank you to the whole team at Midsomer Murders for making me so welcome and really looking after me… I loved every second,’ she wrote on Instagram.

‘Tomorrow there is a behind the scenes look at what we got up to on This Morning and then Sunday 8pm the episode, The Witches of Angels Rise broadcasts on ITV.’
She then went on to explain what was going to unfold in the episode, which also stars Neil, Tracy-Ann Oberman and Colin Salmon.
‘Each year, the Midsomer village of Angel’s Rise hosts an annual Psychic Fayre in the vast and gothic Eddon Hall. Founded by the Saint-Stephens family in memory of their late daughter, the event attracts all manner of mediums, psychics and followers of the occult,’ she teased.
‘When a body is found surrounded by ritual symbols on the eve of the gathering, Barnaby must step into a world of self-proclaimed witches to find the killer.’
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV and ITV X
