This Morning viewers got a little over excited after seeing Holly Willoughby return to the daytime show, but it’s not what you think.
The former This Morning presenter, 42, quit the ITV daytime programme after 14 years earlier this year, saying that it was ‘a difficult goodbye’.
Wednesday’s instalment of the programme was fronted by Rylan Clarke and Emma Willis and as 2023 is drawing to a close, the episode featured a compilation of the best show bits of the year.
Holly was joined by Craig Doyle, 53 – who has been a regular stand in since Phillip Schofield’s exit – as they chatted to Broadway star Idina Menzel.
The mum-of-three, 42, quizzed the broadway star on the 10th anniversary of Frozen, as well as her role as Wicked’s green witch, Elphaba.
However, viewers that just tuned into that moment of the show questioned what the Dancing on Ice presenter was doing back on the screen.

And devoted This Morning fans couldn’t help but laugh.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, @andread48070873 shared: ‘Viewers just switching on will think Holly’s back!’
@Claire added: ‘Have I missed something? Holly is back but not full-time. Or am I jumping to conclusions here?’
@MissLionHeart weighed in: ‘Calm your t**s, guys, it’s a compilation clip. Holly hasn’t actually returned #ThisMorning.’
As for Holly, she’s yet to confirm whether she’ll be returning to Dancing On Ice, with recent reports suggesting Stephen Mulhern has replaced Phillip Schofield on the show.

Schofield, 61, quit This Morning and resigned from ITV in full after admitting his ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair, with his replacement yet to be confirmed.
Holly was said to be ‘in a right state’ over the major decision of returning to the competition, which is due to start in just weeks, with the line-up already having been announced.
A source has now claimed that Holly is ‘not rushing to make a decision and is putting it to the side for now to enjoy the festive period with her children.’
The insider added to The Sun: ‘Holly is expected to make her decision in the new year.’
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
