Holly Willoughby has revealed her children are currently feeling ‘very frustrated’ after she returned to This Morning following former co-host Phillip Schofield’s bombshell confession over his secret affair with a young male colleague on the show.
The 42-year-old took an early-half term break from the ITV programme after Schofield, 61, quit This Morning, following rumours that he and Holly were ‘barely speaking’ behind the scenes and that their relationship had cooled.
He later sensationally resigned from all his ITV projects including hosting the British Soap Awards, after revealing he had an ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a young male show runner on This Morning while still with his wife Stephanie Lowe, which he said he had lied about.
Holly has since returned to the show, addressing the scandal and calling it a ‘lot to process’, as well as directly addressing viewers in a now much-referenced few lines that began: ‘Right, deep breath. Firstly, are you ok? I hope so. It feels very strange indeed sitting here without Phil.’
Now, as she puts the drama behind her, Holly gave a rare insight into her personal life, which she shares with producer husband Dan Baldwin, 48, and their children: Harry, 13, Belle, 11, and eight-year-old Chester.
Writing an update for her wellness and lifestyle brand Wylde Moon’s newsletter, Holly revealed that there was a ‘cloud hanging over’ the household.

She began, via The Sun: ‘Hi, how’re you feeling today? How dreamy was the weather this weekend? Finally, here in the UK we’ve got the weather we’ve been craving and you get the sense that everyone feels better for it.
‘Summer is literally right around the corner, bringing back picnics in the park, daytrips to the beach, al fresco evenings spent with loved ones… and not forgetting the annual paddling pool scrub down and patch up!’
However, her older children are currently gearing up for exams, leaving them frustrated.
‘The only downside to this lovely weather for us as a family right now is the revision cloud hanging over us,’ she shared.

‘If you’re anything like me, you’ve got some very frustrated kids kicking about the house, when all they want is to be outside kicking a ball! I can remember that battle for self-discipline like it was yesterday.’
Holly has been presenting This Morning for the past alongside regular presenters from the roster including Alison Hammond, Craig Doyle and Josie Gibson while a decision is made on Phillip’s permanent replacement.
ITV bosses are reportedly keen to ‘lock in’ Alison with a supposed deal that could land her a salary of £500,000.
Meanwhile, Josie is said to be in talks for a rumoured I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! appearance for a whopping £100,000 fee.
Former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona is now backing Rylan Clark and Amanda Holden to present This Morning as she called for Holly Willoughby to step away from the ITV show.

The 42-year-old has previously opened up about appearing as a guest on the ITV show which left her feeling ‘suicidal’, and blasted the broadcaster for having a ‘toxic’ culture.
She told OK Magazine: ‘I’d have more respect for [Holly] if she left This Morning and Dancing on Ice and said, “Do you know what, it’s time for me to walk away”.
‘I have nothing against her at all, but as a viewer, I just don’t think it’s working anymore. If it was up to me, I’d like Amanda Holden and Rylan Clark to present it.’
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
