Harry Potter has upended Star Wars from the UK sales top spot, as Hogwarts Legacy extends its lead as the best-selling game of 2023.
Star Wars may have been number one last week but the belated launch of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of Hogwarts Legacy has given the Harry Potter franchise dominance this week, as the game solidifies its position as the most successful new title of 2023.
Although sales were well behind the current gen, last week’s releases still counted as the fourth biggest launch of the year, behind Star Wars and Resident Evil but ahead of Dead Island 2.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has not been a disappointment though, with newly released digital sales figures revealing it sold 30% more, overall, than Fallen Order – with digital sales making up a much bigger percentage than with the first game.
