Manchester United captain Harry Maguire is confident that he will be available for selection before Gareth Southgate names his England squad for the World Cup in Qatar.
The defender, 29, injured his hamstring in the Three Lions’ 3-3 draw with Germany in the Nations League last month.
Maguire’s endured a torrid 12 months and he’s lost his place in United’s starting XI this term, with Erik ten Hag favouring Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.
The centre-back’s missed United’s last three matches and he was at Goodison Park on Sunday to watch the side claim a 2-1 victory against the Toffees.
Southgate is set to name his preliminary England squad on October 20th but ESPN say Maguire is hoping to be fit before then to easy any worries the Three Lions boss may have.

United take on Omonia in the Europa League on Thursday before league matches against Newcastle and Tottenham.
Maguire feels his injury is ‘minor’ and is hoping to be available this weekend to prove to Southgate that he will be fit in time for the World Cup.
But United have just eight matches before the domestic season stops for the tournament and Maguire has already suffered from a lack of football this term.
