Team GB win gold in women’s 470 sailing as Hannah Mills makes history at Tokyo Olympics
The Daily Express says: Team GB secured another sailing gold medal in the Women’s 470. Hannah Mills and Eilidh McIntyre put in a brilliant performance and crossed the line in fifth to take home gold. Mills is now the most successful Olympic sailor of all time.
Mills has made history at Tokyo, while McIntyre has secured her first-ever Olympic gold medal.
The pair have had a terrific games, and capped it off with a superb performance on Wednesday morning on the choppy waters of the Enoshima Yacht Harbour.
Mills and McIntyre had a commanding lead on the standings going into Wednesday’s final, and held a 14-point deficit over the teams below them.
As a result, they knew that all they had to do was finish in the top eight boats – provided France finish first.
