Hamilton says he doesn’t regret joining Ferrari; focused on 2026

Hamilton Eyes 2026 as Ferrari Journey Continues

Lewis Hamilton is setting his sights firmly on the 2026 F1 season, despite a challenging inaugural year with Ferrari that has seen him struggle for podium finishes. The seven-time world champion, who made the high-profile switch from Mercedes to the Scuderia at the beginning of the year, admits that while results haven’t met expectations, he harbours no regrets about joining the Italian team.

A Mixed Bag for Hamilton in 2025

Hamilton’s first season with Ferrari has been far from straightforward. Although he secured a victory in the sprint race at the Chinese Grand Prix, he has yet to clinch a podium in the main event, a stark contrast to his glory-laden years with Mercedes.

When reflecting on the difficulties of the past year, Hamilton stated, “I don’t, I just look forwards,” emphasising his forward-thinking mentality.

    Regrets? Not This Time

When questioned if he would still join Ferrari knowing what he knows now, the 40-year-old driver insisted he holds no remorse about his decision. “Well firstly, that’s a hypothetical question so I wouldn’t really go into that, but I would absolutely. I don’t regret the decision I made joining the team. I know it takes time to build and grow within an organisation, and I expected that. So yes.”

    Looking Ahead to 2026

As the team prepares for the off-season, Hamilton is hopeful that Ferrari will make the necessary adjustments to improve performance for 2026. “I definitely think we have a lot of work to do for sure,” he said. “Over winter, we’ll analyse the season, and there are lots of improvements we need to make collectively. But I believe that we can.”

Hamilton remains optimistic, confident that the collaborative effort within the team will yield significant changes, setting the stage for a more competitive entry into the new season.

    Conclusion: Ferrari’s Future with Hamilton

While 2025 may not have delivered the results Hamilton envisioned, his determination and lack of regrets about joining Ferrari signal his commitment to the team and its future. As the motorsport world turns its eyes to 2026, Hamilton’s journey will undoubtedly continue to be a focal point in Formula 1.
