Hairy Biker Dave Myers has praised his friend Si King for helping him through his cancer.
Dave was diagnosed with cancer in May and has been undergoing chemotherapy.
The star, 64, revealed his diagnosis with the disease on his podcast with his co-star earlier this year, but reassured fans that the ‘prognosis is ok’ and that he’s ‘going to be fine’.
Speaking of his TV partner’s support throughout his illness, Dave hailed Si, 55, as ‘indispensable’ and said he has been accompanying him to hospital appointments, as well as cooking him meals to store in his freezer.
Dave told BBC Radio Cumbria: ‘The very first week before all the treatment started you have a week of going round hospitals, it was enormous pressure on Lil my partner, but Si was the one who drove me around for a week.’
Offering an update on his condition, he said: ‘I’m doing alright, I wouldn’t say I was the best I’ve ever been, I’ve had quite a lot of chemotherapy but it’s working.

‘The numbers are going in the right direction, my hair is growing back, my beard is coming back.’
Dave also praised his fans for sending him ‘encouraging’ messages online, especially when the loss of his hair during the second round of chemo was difficult to deal with.
‘It’s encouraged me that it’s time to stick my head above the parapet a bit.’
He also noted that it felt ‘very funny being anonymous all of a sudden’ after he shaved the rest of his hair off.
He maintained his sense of humour when announcing his diagnosis, warning people that he might be a ‘bald biker’ for a while.

Despite trying to keep his spirits up, however he added that ‘you can’t ignore the dark times.’
‘There are times when you curl up and cry,’ he admitted. ‘My message was positive not knowing what was to come.’
