Consumer brand Which? has analysed prices of nearly 26,000 branded food and drink products at eight supermarkets: Aldi, Asda, Lidl, Morrisons, Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose.

In the case of Mr Kipling Chocolate Slices, the uplift in cost at Tesco was 129%, from £1.16 a pack in 2022, now £2.66 in 2023.

Breakfast staple Quaker Jumbo Rolled Oats, also at Tesco, rose by 68.6%, from £1.75 to £2.95.

A 900ml carton of Tropicana Smooth Orange Juice, at Morrisons, also made the list (Picture: Morrisons)

Over at Morrisons, Which? found that a 900ml carton of Tropicana Smooth Orange Juice went from £1.84 to £3.05 year-on-year, which is a difference of 65.8%.
