Green Party leader slams Jeremy Clarkson after ‘personal attack’ on his teeth

Cliff Notes – Zack Polanski has responded to Jeremy Clarkson’s comments

    • Zack Polanski, the new leader of the Green Party, responded to Jeremy Clarkson’s mockery of his appearance, labelling it a sign of Clarkson’s desperation as he resorts to personal attacks.
    • Clarkson’s column compared Polanski’s teeth to those of Shane MacGowan and dismissed his political ambitions, while Polanski encouraged supporters to join the Green Party instead.
    • Amidst this exchange, Polanski highlighted the Green Party’s significant membership growth, now at 125,000, and emphasised the need to address economic inequality in the UK.

Zack Polanski has fired back at Jeremy Clarkson after he mocked the Green Party leader’s teeth.

The 42-year-old politician, who has overseen an 80% rise in membership for the party to overtake the Tories since being appointed leader last month, has responded after the Clarkson’s Farm presenter took aim in a new column.

Mr Polanski wrote on Instagram: I’ve got lots of things to say about Jeremy Clarkson. Really not worth it. He knows his game is over and so is resorting to personal attacks.’

Instead, he urged his followers to ‘p**s him off instead’ by signing up to the Green Party.

In his new column for the Sunday Times, the former Top Gear host began the piece by comparing Polanski’s looks to late Pogues legend Shane MacGowan.

‘I’m greatly amused by Zack Polanski, who is the newly elected leader of the Green Party,’ Clarkson wrote.

The Green Party leader has fired back at the ‘personal attacks’

Clarkson compared him to Pogues legend Shane MacGowan.

‘He is constantly banging on about how he’s going to sort out the country, and I just sit there thinking, “Mate, you can’t even sort out your own teeth”.

‘Honestly, it looks like he takes a picture of Shane MacGowan to the dentist.’

The column comes just over a week after Clarkson hinted at making his own venture into politics, as the Grand Tour star suggested he could stand in his local constituency.

He wrote on X: ‘People of Doncaster North. Are you happy with your MP Would you like it if someone from your neck of the woods kicked him out?’

The Clarkson’s Farm star has hinted at his own move into politics

Over the weekend Ed Miliband, Doncaster North’s Labour MP, was asked about the post and insisted he welcomes ‘all comers’ to challenge him for the seat.

‘I think he is a sort of long-standing aspirant to my seat. I think he said in 2013 that he was going to contest my seat,’ the Energy Secretary said’ on the Sunday Morning show With Trevor Phillips.

‘So look, it’s for other people to decide if they want to stand for Parliament, including in my seat. I welcome all comers. Let’s see what happens.’

Elsewhere in his column about Polanski, Clarkson criticised his calls for a 1% tax on the UK’s billionaires, while referring to the party leader as ‘Captain Teeth’ and ‘Teeths’.

Polanski has been touting the Green Party’s rising numbers

On the same day, the politician said Greens now have 125,000 members, putting them behind Labour and Reform UK in terms of membership.

He told the BBC: ‘People are feeling hope, they can hear that I’m talking about the fact people’s wages aren’t high enough, the cost of living is too high.

‘What we really need to do is tackle the inequality at the heart of our society. The four wealthiest people in Britain own more wealth than 20 million people combined.

‘The Green Party are the only party really talking about the fact people are really struggling, they’re tired and exhausted, and it doesn’t have to be this way.’
