The Sun – Grandpa kicked to death in park

    September 4, 2024

The brutal murder of a grandfather in a Leicester park is The Sun’s main lead. The paper says the 80-year-old had recently spoken to police ‘about abuse by yobs.’ Locals tell the paper the yobs ‘spat on’ and ‘threw rocks’ at the elderly man before kicking him to death. Kohli died from a neck injury and a 14-year-old boy is being held on suspicion of murder.

Elsewhere, the paper’s Jane Moore offers her opinion on Elle Macpherson’s ‘holistic’ approach to fighting cancer and how it might impact regular people.

Dog walker, 80, ‘spat on and pelted with rocks by teens’ before he was ‘kicked to death’ as boy, 14, held over ‘murder’

AN 80-YEAR-OLD dog walker was allegedly spat on and pelted with rocks by teens before he was kicked to death, locals claim.

Bhim Sen Kohli, 80, tragically died in hospital after he was allegedly attacked in Franklin Park, near Leicester, at around 6.30pm on Sunday evening.

Five youths including a boy and girl aged 14 and two girls aged 12 were arrested on suspicion of murder after the horror.

A 14-year-old boy remains in custody while cops confirmed the other four have been released “with no further action”.

Now a friend has claimed Bhim was spat at by a group of teens outside his home earlier this summer.

Another local told how local youths had thrown “big rocks” at the 80-year-old.

Elle Macpherson’s ‘holistic’ approach to fighting cancer is twaddle…people will think ‘I’ll heal myself too’

FORMER supermodel Elle Macpherson says she’s in remission from breast cancer after refusing to undergo chemotherapy.

She reveals that, after a lumpectomy seven years ago, she was diagnosed with “HER2 positive oestrogen receptive intraductal carcinoma” and doctors suggested a mastectomy with radiation, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, plus reconstruction of her breast.

But, despite most of her family wanting her to take this route, she went to a beach in Miami, prayed, and decided on “an intuitive, heart-led, holistic approach” to treating her cancer.

In an interview with Australian Women’s Weekly to promote her memoir, Elle, she says: “Saying no to standard medical solutions was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life . . .  It really gave me an opportunity to dig deep in my inner sense to find a solution that worked for me . . . I realised I was going to need my own truth, my belief system to support me through it.”

'Man kicked to death by boy' & 'Horror in the Channel' - Paper Talk

    Editorial 04 September 2024.

Wednesday’s newspapers lead with various headlines reflecting a variety of domestic stories. The tabloids lend more coverage to allegations that an elderly man was kicked to death by a 14-year-old boy – who has since been arrested on suspicion of murder. The left-leaning broadsheets lead with the ‘horror’ in the Channel – as at least 12 migrants died after the sinking of an overcrowded boat. Amongst the dead include children and a pregnant woman.
