Graham Norton has delivered his own ahem, unique spin on Eurovision commentary over the years, and fans wouldn’t have it any other way.
The 60-year-old presenter has been the voice of reason in Eurovision fans’ ears for the last 13 years, and he wasn’t going to let anyone else get a look in on the role now the competition has landed on British shores.
In what is for many the best night on the calendar, the Eurovision final will take place on Saturday May 13 at the Liverpool Arena.
The legendary presenter will be hosting this year’s event alongside Ted Lasso’s Hannah Waddingham, Britain’s Got Talents’ Alesha Dixon and Ukrainian singer Julia Sanina.
With the finale kicking off in a matter of days, it’s only right that we look back at Graham iconic commentary over the years. Brace yourselves, there’s a lot to get through!
‘This year’s theme is celebrating diversity. Let’s see who they’ve chosen to host. Oh. It’s three white men.’
The theme in 2017 was ‘Celebrate Diversity,’ however many fans pointed out on Twitter that this message of diversity didn’t seem to reach the show’s producers, who selected three white men to host.
The three live shows were presented by Ukrainian television presenters Oleksandr Skichko, Volodymyr Ostapchuk and Timur Miroshnychenko, being the first contest since the inaugural 1956 edition without a female host.
This led to Graham’s cheeky quip to emphasise the lack of diversity.

‘That’s three minutes we’ll never get back, but look at it this way: We’ll never have to hear that song again.
Safe to say Graham wasn’t a fan of Albania’s performance of I’m Alive in 2015.
‘Well, that wasn’t embarrassing at all, well done.’

The beloved TV personality didn’t hold back after the surprise rap delivered by the reader of the Finnish results in 2014.
‘They’re deeply in love, and one day they’ll regret that.‘
Well he was technically correct about the Spanish real-life couple from 2018, because they’ve split.
‘If you’ve just joined us and thought, ‘Ooh, Denise van Outen’s let herself go’, no, that’s Cascada representing Germany’
During Thursday’s second round it was confirmed that ten more acts had qualified (Picture: REUTERS)
We hope Denise felt somewhat flattered by the comparison in 2017.
‘If you’re going to get someone to dress as a gorilla, at least get a decent outfit. That looks like couple of old car seats sewn together.‘
Italy conquered the 6th place with the song ‘Occidentali’s Karma’ at Eurovision 2017, obtaining a total of 334 points, however Graham wasn’t here for the costume choice.
‘She claims to be the only yodeller in Romania. Probably because the others don’t talk about it. That’s the first rule of yodelling club.’
The only thoughts he had on Romania’s performance.
