Gordon Ramsay’s latest cooking show has been axed on the BBC, just weeks after his ITV programme was also binned.

According to TV Zone, Gordon Ramsay’s Future Food Stars won’t be returning for a third series after failing to score good ratings, with none of the episodes reaching two million viewers.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: ‘Gordon is highly competitive and he’s gutted the series wasn’t given a second run.

‘These types of shows always take a while to get going and for viewers to connect, so he thinks it wasn’t really given a proper chance.

‘But he accepts TV is a brutal world and sometimes shows just don’t work out.’

Gordon Ramsay’s Future Food Stars debuted in 2022 and followed the sweary chef as he tried to find one food and drink entrepreneur to invest £150,000 in.

The 12 contenders faced a series of tests to see their determination, dedication, passion, and talent, including diving down into the depths of caves to delivering food on a high-wire suspended 1,000ft above the ground.

The programme’s axe comes just weeks after it was also reported that Gordon’s ITV show Next Level Chef was also canned due to failing to attract viewers.

A spokesman for ITV said at the time: ‘There are no current plans for a second series but viewers can watch series one on ITVX.’

It’s not all bad though, as one of Gordon’s most famous shows, Kitchen Nightmares, is set to make a return, almost a decade after it last aired.

In May, Deadline reported that Gordon’s popular series will be making a comeback with the help of production company Studio Ramsay.

Metro.co.uk has contacted Gordon’s rep and the BBC for comment.
