God Of War Ragnarök – it took home seven awards at The Game Awards this past December (pic: Sony)
The nominees for this year’s BAFTA Game Awards have been revealed, with God Of War: Ragnarök and Elden Ring once again vying for Best Game.
BAFTA has announced its nominees for this year’s BAFTA Game Awards, which will take place at the end of the month on March 30. 45 games have been nominated across the 17 categories and, unsurprisingly, the likes of God Of War: Ragnarök and Elden Ring have picked up the lion’s share.
The two titles are once again going head-to-head in a number of categories, much like December’s The Game Awards. While it’s obviously too soon to tell who will walk home with the most awards, Sony and Santa Monica Studios can take some pride in knowing that God Of War: Ragnarök has received double the BAFTA nominations that Elden Ring has.
Whereas Elden Ring has seven nominations, God Of War: Ragnarök has 14, which also makes it the most nominated game in the history of the BAFTAs.
Four of those nominations are for the Performer in a Supporting Role category alone, with the only other two games represented being Horizon Forbidden West (another Sony exclusive) and Immortality.
God Of War: Ragnarök is also in the running for the EE Game of the Year, as well as Elden Ring. Although this is the one category where the winner is chosen by the general public.
Even discounting the EE Game of the Year, all but two of Elden Ring’s nominations are seeing it compete against God Of War: Ragnarök, including Best Game.

More: Gaming
Surprisingly, Elden Ring doesn’t have the second most amount of nominations at the BAFTAs. Annapurna’s Stray just beats it out with eight nominations in total, nine if you count the EE Game of the Year.
You’ll be able to watch the BAFTA game Awards live on the official BAFTA Twitch channel on March 30 from 6:50pm.
